The American Freedom Train

The plaque, which is believed to have placed by the Neptune, NJ Historical Society became obscured by overgrowth and was not visible from Memorial drive and basically became forgotten and practically inaccessible and neglected for 40 years.  In October 20, 2016, the plaque and stone was move 1/4 mile South to Riley Park in Bradley Beach.  "The Freedom Train monument, commemorating the train's visit in September 1976, is being relocated to Riley Park, next to the Bradley Beach railroad station. An event Celebrating the 40th Anniversary and re-dedicating of the monument will be held at noon on Thursday October 20 at the park. Guest speakers will include local historian and author Gary Crawford along with Keith Muldowney from the railroad. All welcome."
