RAOUL WALLENBERG PARK
This park is dedicated as a living memorial to Raoul Wallenberg,
the Swedish diplomat who save the lives of tens of thousands of Hungarian
Jews destined to die at the hands of the Nazis during the Holocaust.
Raoul Wallenberg's heroic deeds are a lasting reminder that one person can
make a difference. His fearless devotion to the right to life and his commitment
to justice serve as a noble example for all humanity.
On December 10, 1985, Raoul Wallenberg was recognized in the House of
Commons for his human rights efforts, and by a symbolic gesture, was made
an honourary citizen of Canada.
