Day of Mourning, Port Moody
April 28 Day of Mourning Plaque, erected in approximately 2000 in a joint program between Worksafe BC, the BC Federation of Labour and the BC Business Council. The National Day of Mourning is observed in Canada on 28 April. It commemorates workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness due to workplace related hazards and incidents.Beside the plaque is a bench CUPE Local 825 dedicated to Brother Lance Foody who was killed while on the job in 2001.
