Dedicated to the memory of
Catie Copley,
Fairmont Copley Plaza's beloved Canine Ambassador
Catie was originally trained by the Guide Dog Foundation
for the Blind. Developing small cataracts in her youth,
she was unable to complete the program and a career change
was in order. Fairmont Copley Plaza adopted Catie in 2004
where she became aa member of the hotel staff, meeting and
greeting guests in the lobby, accompanying them for walks
around the city, and serving as a community liaison.
Catie had a knack for making everyone she met feel more
at home and comfortable at the hotel, and was always
readily available for moments of canine companionship.
She is the central character in two published books,
"Catie Copley" and "Catie Copley's Great Escape," and her
legacy in Boston will never be forgotten.
