THE FORMER SITE OF THE AMERICAN HOUSE WHERE THE FIRST
TERRITORIAL LEGISLATIVE SESSION WAS HELD THE AMERICAN
EXCHANGE BANK, WHICH MOVED TO THE BUILDING IN 1922, HAS
BEEN A MADISON INSTITUTION SINCE 1871.
