The King of Organs

This plaque commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the Wanamaker, the world’s largest pipe organ.

The Wanamaker Organ first echoed in this soaring atrium on June 22, 1911 at the exact moment King George V was crowned in Westminster Abbey.

Today, June 22, 2011, Macy’s rededicates the Wanamaker Organ to a second century of great music.

Located in the center court of the Macy’s department store at 1300 Market Street, Philadelphia (formerly the Wanamaker department store.)
