The Fathomless Richness of the Seabed
Mural by Jordi Bonet
In 1968 Jordi Bonet was commissioned to design this mural. By the abstract treatment of his subject the sea, with colour and texture, he has produced as he says, “the textures and reliefs of waves of rippling sand, the delicate branches of coral reefs, the airy likeness of a sponge, the swift strength of the underwater currents.”
Jordi Bonet: Born in Spain, 1932, Jordi Bonet has been living in Quebec since 1954. In the past twelve years he has worked on some hundred murals in ceramics, aluminum and concrete throughout Canada, and is fast becoming world-renowned in this field.
