Remembering Henry Alton Hyde (1871 - 1949)
Pioneer horticulturist and nurseryman
For 59 years in the Monterey Bay area, H. A. Hyde engaged in plant propagation and development of fruit trees, native plants, floriculture, and vegetables. He pioneered commercial development of strawberries, lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes, carnations, calla lilies, and begonias.
