On April 23, 1935 Mayor Gerry McGeer read the Riot Act at Victory Square to a large demonstration of unemployed men and their supporters. This plaque was placed in 1986 on the building that once housed the Vancouver Province newspaper. It is directly across the street from the Square and cenotaph.
