An aerial map of the Second District provided the initial inspiration
for this artwork. The linear patterns of the streets and the Mississippi
River were transformed into a dynamic, colorful abstract design. The
blue and red glass were used as a reference to the great stained glass
windows of the 13th Century European Cathedrals.
