Lynyrd Skynyrd Memorial
This marker is presented to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in grateful appreciation to rescuers and caregivers for the tremendous care provided to the twenty survivors of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band Airline Crash, October 20, 1977.
The care your team provided to survivors of the iconic Southern and Blues Rock Band is not definable through mere words. Each caregiver we met treated the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional needs of the Lynyrd Skynyrd band survivors, their families and friends.
We continue to remember the six souls we lost on the crash site that fateful night. We are truly grateful for all that you did and want people from all over the world to thank you for caring for our band members and congratulate you on your 50th Anniversary!
