This San Francisco International Airport Medical
Clinic was founded in 1972 by Dr. Lawrence A.
Smookeler, who devoted twenty-three years of
extraordinary service to the medical needs of the
flying public, developed the Airport's emergency
medical response capability, and provide warmth
and compassion in the treatment of his patients.
This Medical Clinic represents Dr. Smookler's
dedicated efforts and is proof that commitment to a
bold idea, perseverance in its systematic development,
and continued practice of public service are
exceptional human endeavors.
