Just Lower the Road

"Just Lower the Road  |  Marie E. Sera  |  November 12, 2013". It was hot and noisy I just wanted to keep walking. The sign for this train bridge registered in my periphery and a number of steps later I had to go back. "Always read the plaque." This plaque has such a simple statement and made me wonder: what went on in that Aurora, Colorado, meeting back in November 2013? Was lowering the road not obvious? Later, while riding in a car headed north on Peña Boulevard I looked over at the train track and saw the slow incline and decline it had to traverse over Green Valley Ranch Boulevard, and over East 56th. What made East 40th different? I do not know.
