This plaque was found in the Village Antiques Mall in Fort Langley. The label says “Heavy brass sign, $125”.
The plaque is from the auditorium of the E.S. Doty High School in McKinney, Texas. The school was opened in 1940, with the auditorium dedicated in January 1948. It was the only school for African-American students in McKinney and was closed in 1963, when the city’s schools were integrated. The building is now the Holy Family School.
