Enhancing River Habitat
ENHANCING RIVER HABITAT
Hudson River Park's mission includes being the steward of approximately 400 acres of Hudson River habitat known as the Estuarine Sanctuary. The textured concrete piles installed here at the Pier 32 pile field are part of a larger habitat restoration initiative known as the Tribeca Habitat Enhancement Project.
Collectively, the hundreds of above- and below-water features installed through this project provide new homes for oysters and various fish species, furthering the Park's commitment to strengthening the health of the Hudson River.
