The following text is included, "In 1864 Thomas Alexander Dixon started linen weaving at his mill. They supplied uniforms to both sides of the American Civil War. Other goods included Bleached Linens, Suitings, Diapers, Huckabacks, Towels, Tea Towels, etc. The business was managed by successive generations of the Dixon family. During WWII employees were engaged in making munitions for the war effort. They then continued with Linen Weaving until it eventually closed in 1968. The factory then re-opened as a saw mill and timber yard." Pictured here H7962 : Arch, Dixon's Park
