Dixboro United Methodist Church
In its earliest years, the Village of Dixboro was served by "circuit-riding" preachers. The infrequency of these visits and the "occurrence of carousing in the local taverns" led many of the village residents to voice the need for a local church. In September of 1857, Ira W. Donaldson, an Ann Arbor minister, started revival meetings in Dixboro. These meetings were well attended and "society took a different tone." A meeting was called on December 10, 1857, "for the purpose of taking into consideration the location and form of a church to be erected in said place." The Church was built in 1858 and has served the community since that time as a focus for worship and fellowship.
