Civil Rights Memorial Park
Never Forget, Never Again.
The bloodshed on this bridge named to honor Klan Leader, Edmund Pettus, must fuel our resolve to secure the right to vote in perpetuity. This park was designed and donated by Hank and Rose Sanders to honor their parents, Rev. D.A. and Ora Lee Gaines and Same and Ola Mae Sanders, who represent the thousands of African Americans whose work and faith form the pillars of the Civil Rights Movement.
