Canada's First Teachers' Strike, Victoria 1919
This plaque was installed by the Greater Victoria Teachers' Association and the BC Labour Heritage Centre in 2017 to commemorate the February 1919 teachers' strike. The job action, the first of its kind in Canada, was precipitated by the school board refusing to honour a salary increase.
