Plaque on Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee commemorative fountain, Horsham Road, Shalford

The plaque explains that the fountain commemorates the completion of the 60th year of the reign of Queen Victoria. This was in 1897. One hundred and fifteen years later, in 2012, Queen Elizabeth II her great great grand-daughter also celebrated her Diamond Jubilee.
