This plaque on the island of Texel in the Waddenzee commemorates the grenade collecting action of a man locally known as "Cees van Corrie", who lived in this house in the village of Den Burg. The grenade was a ricochet shot fired by accident from a giant canon in the Harssens fortress at Den Helder. Den Helder is the town across the narrow sea strait from the island of Texel, and in the 1920's this accidental shot was fired. The grenade bounced off the sea to finally land in the beach at the village De Koog on Texel. Mister C. Keijser Czn, locally known as Cees van Corrie collected and put safe the grenade.
